What is the status of media and data literacy in European countries and in the education sector?

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

The first activities of the project MILES have started right after the Kick off Meeting in March 2024, under the lead of the Portuguese organization OLAE.

The first step that all the consortium partners are taking is to create an EU report on the status of data and media literacy in each country involved.

In order to reach this objective, the partners are collecting essential information on a three-level research:

·        through interviews to 5 policy makers, 5 actors working in school and 2 stakeholders in each country on the status of media and data literacy in the educational context

·        through a desk research that includes literary reviews of articles, statistics and collection of good practices on national contexts

·        through the analysis of the foreseen 900 answers (100 per country) to surveys targeting adult and minors on these topics.

With this collection of information, partners will move on in creating the program for the first training of trainers that will take place in Romania in January 2025 and develop the essential tools that will be used during the core activities of the project, where also teachers and students of secondary schools will be involved.

If you are an expert in these fields and want to be involved in this step in one of the countries of the project, contact the organisation of your country!

Meet the partners!
